"I made this quilt after a trip to Hawaii with my quilting friends. We were greatly inspired by the lush foliage, the bright, colorful flowers, and the sea reaching as far as the eye can see. Hawaii will always be a place of magic for me. I try to capture this feeling in the quilt."

The lavender blocks are Hawaiian flower patterns, and the green blocks are Hawaiian plant patterns. They are made from hand-dyed cottons. They are all hand appliqued as well as the vine pattern. The borders are shades of lavendar, hand quilted in an ocean wave pattern. The rest of the quilt is hand quilted in an echo pattern. Backing is white cotton. |
