| "This quilt was made from an Hawaiian pattern sent to me by an old friend. I really love Hawaiian quilts because I find their designs so powerful. The Hawaiian women designed their quilts based on their beautiful floral surroundings, their old gods, and their legends. It was believed that some quilt designs even came to the designer and quilter in their dreams. I think the Hawaiian rule to work with two solid fabrics helps bring out the wonderful quilting and the exotic design. In this one, the echo quilting looks like waves."

I chose a rose cotton for the plumeria flower, appliqued on a white background. The fabrics are all cotton. It is hand appliqued and hand quilted in the traditional echo quilting pattern that resembles waves. Backing is white cotton.
