| "Japanese culture and fabrics are very inspiring as a quilt maker. I made this quilt from a pattern in Kuroha Shizuko's Log Cabin book. The materials are all cotton, a combination of American and Japanese fabrics that range from light blue and white prints to a very dark indigo blue. They create a somber and meditative mood like many Japanese kimonos."

| It is machine pieced hand quilted in straight lines from the center out to the edge. The backing is made up of hand dyed red fabric because Japanese kimonos usually have bright linings. | ![]() |
